This week our church has welcomed into homes and hearts missionaries from around the globe supported by Westover. We have shared with them our houses, cars, food, and time. They have shared with us the stories of their lives that they give by faith to God.
The stories they tell are a blessing. They nourish and strengthen our hearts that are prone to wander. They remind us of how great and involved the Living God is in the lives of His children for His name’s sake. They push us to live by faith: faith in the one true God, that He justified us through the work of the Son of God, adopted us into the Father’s family, and will be counseled and led by the Spirit into the “good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10) They encourage us to be mission-minded when we return to our post – the workplace, the home, the grocery store and gas station, the coffee shop, the gym, etc.
“We seek Your kingdom first.
We hunger and we thirst.
Refuse to waste our lives
for You’re our joy and prize.
To see the captive hearts released.
The hurt, the sick, the poor at peace.
We lay down our lives for Heaven’s cause.”
